FIRM HISTORY

In business for 59 years, McCarty Law LLP (formerly known as McCarty Curry Wydeven Peeters & Haak, LLP) has grown quietly and deliberately over the years, earning our place as a leader in the legal profession.  Our commitment to service excellence and continuous professional growth ensures that, even as the world changes and legal needs become more complex, our clients will receive the very best legal representation.

Neil McCarty, a fourth-generation Kaukauna resident, founded the law firm in 1949 after graduating from Harvard law school.  Neil, who practiced estate planning and general corporate law, began with a simple promise to his clients – that he would provide them with trusted advice and exceptional service.

In 1961, Neil recognized the need for an experienced litigator and hired Irv Curry.  Irv was responsible for all litigation and became the firm's managing partner, providing leadership to the business operations of the firm.  He was instrumental in developing a true partnership that would later become McCarty Law.

Expanding to meet the needs of the market, Neil and Irv recruited a partner with a strong real estate background.  Dennis Wydeven joined the firm in 1972, merging his independent practice in Kimberly to become a key member of the firm.  Dennis is recognized for his contributions to the unique and special culture that is appreciated by clients and employees at McCarty Law.

Neil, Irv and Dennis created the foundation of the law firm that exists today.  From our roots in Kaukauna – at the intersection of Lawe and Wisconsin Streets, to the Bank of Kaukauna building, to the Pechman Building, to 120 East Fourth Street – to our new location at 2401 East Enterprise Avenue in Appleton, helping our clients grow and succeed has been key to the firm's development and expansion.

Today, Gregg Curry (son of Irv) and Randy Haak are managing partners of the firm, and
Reg Wydeven (Dennis' son) is a partner of the firm.  Client needs are served by 11 attorneys (six of whom are partners) and more than twenty staff members.

McCarty Law delivers legal counsel to individuals, small and large businesses, closely held companies, and international organizations regarding a wide variety of legal matters.  Practice areas include estate succession and asset protection planning, real estate law, business and corporate law, creditor actions, employment and labor law, construction law, as well as commercial and personal litigation.

As we have since 1949, McCarty Law takes seriously our responsibility to enhance the health and vitality of the communities in which we live, work, and raise our families.  We look for opportunities to contribute, and pledge to make a difference in this world by touching the lives of others.

We are guided by our vision for the future:  To deepen trusted relationships with our current clients; to serve the needs of an expanding marketplace; to continue our tradition of excellence by helping clients reach their personal and professional goals; and to share a sense of community with those we serve.
